Alpaca wool beautifies over time if properly cared for. We therefore owe it to you to wash your alpaca garment without hesitation after having worn it 4 or 5 times.
Here are our tips for the care of your SWEET ALPAGA sweater, jacket or poncho :
Hand washing
The best way to maintain your SWEET ALPAGA garment is to wash it by hand in cold water with a mild shampoo or a special wool detergent, without using any fabric softener, which would unnecessarily soften the wool and which could be dangerous for health as well as the environment. Gently massage your SWEET ALPAGA garment and rinse it with cold water. Wring it out without twisting it by rolling it in a terry towel to absorb the excess water, then lay it flat on another dry towel.
Machine wash
If you have a machine with a delicate program, you can machine wash your alpaca garment. Preferably put your SWEET ALPAGA garment in a washing house or in a pillowcase, in order to reduce its warping. Select the water temperature carefully, which should be cold or a maximum of 20 ° and a low spin (maximum 400). Use a mild detergent without fabric softener. Put your garment back in shape and dry it flat on a terry towel, preferably out of direct sunlight.

The variations in temperature make all wools felt ; the water should be cold or at a maximum temperature of 20 °, but above all it should be at a constant temperature, i.e. you will wash and rinse at the same temperature. So if you are washing in the machine, make sure that the washing and rinsing are done at the same temperature ; and if you wash by hand, let the tap run for the duration of washing and rinsing.
Ironing
Our alpaca clothes require very little ironing. If necessary, iron very lightly inside out and at low temperature, placing a fine cloth between the iron and the garment.
